Q. How much does a
website cost?
A.
There are several factors that affect the
total cost of a website. These factors include how
many pages, will the site will be used for
e-commerce, graphic and logo design, database
creating and other requests. you will also need a web
hosting provider and a domain name.
Q.
Do I need to hire a local designer?
A.
We design websites for local and out of state
clients. We use many forms of communication
throughout the design process. Our clients are
given toll-free access to our company. This along
with e-mail and postal mail, these methods are
effective for clients in any location.
Q.
How long does it take to have a website designed?
A.
Since each site is different, it is almost
impossible to give an exact time frame. The size
of the site and its complexity, delays in
receiving content or images and delay in the
clients communication with us are just a few
things that may delay completion. Our designers
focus on single development designs. This allows
us to offer fast turn-around. You will be given an
estimated completion date when the design contract
is finalized.
Q.
What is a domain name?
A.
A domain name is you websites address on the
internet. A domain name is registered through a
domain registrar. A sample of a domain name is
'bportweb.com'.

your site is completed, we will provide you with a cd that
will contain all files, content and images for your new
website. We will assist you in locating a hosting service

Q.
What is web hosting?
A.
Web hosting is similar to a large filing cabinet. It is a
web server that contains all the websites files. This allows
your site to be accessible on the internet. We provide web
hosting services for our development clients at special prices.
Q.
My website is not listed on the search engines. How come?
A. When your site is submitted to the search engines,
it may take several weeks before your site is actually
indexed. The search engines "spider"
submitted websites for indexing. Spidering is
scheduled on a regular basis. Just continue to
visit the search engines and verify if your site
has been indexed.
Q. I
want a lot of graphics on my site. Is this a problem?
A.
It is not a problem with us, but keep a few things in mind.
(1) Images, depending on size, format may take a longer time
to load on a visitors screen depending on their connection,
(2) Too many images can become a "distraction" to
your sites visitor. They may not concentrate on the actually
content of the site... your product or service. Remember,
more is not always better. (3) Search engines may not
properly index images as they do text.
Q.
What content should I have on my website?
A.
The main purpose for a website is to provide a site owner to
offer his products and services to the public. The content
should be specific as to what you are trying to relate to
your customer. Provide as much information as possible, but
don't "over do" the content. Keep it clean and
user friendly without a lot of clutter.
Q.
Do you offer shopping cart services?
A.
We do not offer payment gateway or merchant account
services. However, we can integrate e-commerce into your
website. Keep in mind that your hosting provider must provide
specific scripts for a shopping cart system to function
properly.
Q.
What is website maintenance?
A.
Website maintenance is simply keeping a website current.
Some sites require continuous updating ( product images,
prices etc.) on a regular basis. Fresh content helps assure
return visitors to your site.
Q.
Can I maintain my own website?
A.
All that is required to do basic site updating is some
knowledge of html. We provide our clients with some basic
html tutorials to allow them to make minor changes.
